About The Position

We are seeking an outstanding individual who will be responsible for vaccinations, bird moves, male selection, grading, cleaning, and disinfecting all equipment involved to ensure bio-security. All duties should be performed with safety, bio-security, and animal welfare being top priorities. This role plays a critical part in overall success of the farm operations within the vaccination crew. This crew has primary responsibilities for the animal care and welfare of the birds.

Requirements

• Ability to understand oral and written instructions and perform simple task
• Ability to perform work that is repetitive in nature
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to grip, grasp, or twist using hands and wrist
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50lbs
• Bend and stoop throughout the shift
• Valid driver's license is a must
• Able to work in outside temperatures
• Able to work well in teams

Nice To Haves

• Animal husbandry experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Work with day old chicks
• Collect birds for moving, weighing, and vaccinations
• Work with live animals and the associated environment (poultry houses)
• Collect blood samples, band/tag or remove tags from birds
• Follow Animal Care Standards, Animal Welfare Guidelines, and Bio-Security policies and procedures
• Work with chemicals such as detergents, disinfects, etc.
• Perform essential duties in a safe and efficient manner as trained
• Be around farm related smells or odors and loud/noisy environment
