About The Position

This role plays a critical part in the overall success of the farm operations within the vaccination crew. This crew has primary responsibilities for the animal care and welfare of the birds. The job involves working with day-old chicks, collecting birds for moving, weighing, and vaccinations, and handling live animals in their environment. Responsibilities include collecting blood samples, banding/tagging birds, and adhering to Animal Care Standards, Animal Welfare Guidelines, and Bio-Security policies and procedures. The role also requires working with chemicals and performing duties safely and efficiently as trained. The environment may include farm-related smells, odors, and loud noise. The position may require working up to 6 days a week, including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• Must have Valid Driver License
• Ability to understand oral and written instructions and perform simple tasks
• Ability to perform work that is repetitive in nature
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to grip, grasp, or twist using hands and wrist
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50lbs
• Bend and stoop throughout the shift
• Ability to work with live animals and the associated environment
• Ability to work with chemicals such as detergents, disinfects, etc.
• Must be able to be around farm related smells or odors and loud/noisy environment

Nice To Haves

• Animal husbandry experience preferred but not required
