About The Position

Burnbrae Farms is seeking Poultry Farm Workers for their farm in Kleefeld, with potential support for other locations in Saint Malo and New Bothwell. This role offers hands-on experience in egg farming, working as part of a team to prepare birds and barns for optimal potential. The position is a full-time permanent role, reporting to the Farm Manager, with no direct reports.

Requirements

Ability to work as part of a team
Demonstrates positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
Ability to perform physical tasks that require strength, coordination, and dexterity
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and must be able to lift 10-15 lbs repetitively
Able to show up to work on time and ready to work.
Willing to work until the task is complete, which can require longer hours on some shifts.
Must have flexibility in respect to scheduling
Ability to execute all tasks in a safe manner
Comfortable around farm animals.
Able to adhere to animal welfare standards.

Nice To Haves

Experience with agriculture or farm animals is considered an asset

Responsibilities

Prepare birds for transport from a barn to another site. This can include loading birds into carts and onto transport trucks, as well as unloading birds from carts into the barn
Clean barns and equipment, using high-pressure water and various chemicals
Apply vaccinations to birds
Demonstrates a commitment to safety in all tasks which includes, but is not limited to, wearing required Personal Protective Equipment, using safe lifting techniques, following lock out tag out procedures, appropriate use, handling and storage of chemicals, etc.
