An ideal candidate should have experience in modeling electrochemical reactions on surfaces and interfaces using first-principles density functional theory (DFT), grand canonical DFT (GC-DFT) calculations, microkinetic modeling, and machine learning methods, and in developing machine learning interatomic potentials (MLIPs).

Requirements

  • Ph. D. in Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field is required.
  • Strong background and interest in theoretical heterogeneous catalysis.
  • Expertise with DFT, GC-DFT, and machine learning methods.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and mentorship skills and ability to interact with a diverse team.

Responsibilities

  • Modeling electrochemical reactions on surfaces and interfaces using first-principles density functional theory (DFT), grand canonical DFT (GC-DFT) calculations, microkinetic modeling, and machine learning methods.
  • Developing machine learning interatomic potentials (MLIPs).

Benefits

  • State Benefits eligibility for OPS employees are subject to criteria established by the State of Florida. The state’s benefits administrator, People First, determines eligibility and coordinates enrollment.
