About The Position

This is a postdoctoral position with the Kamal laboratory in the Center of Orthopedic Research and Translational Science at the Department of Orthopedics, Penn State Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA. The job consists of laboratory work using complex genetic mouse models and primary cell culture systems to understand the pathophysiology of osteoarthritis disease development and progression.

Requirements

  • Experience with basic small animal handling, surgeries, and dissection
  • Basic molecular biology techniques (PCR, western blotting)
  • Basic cell culture skills
  • Basic histology and immunohistochemistry skills
  • A PhD or MD in (biology, cell signaling, pharmaceutical sciences, medical sciences) or related discipline by appointment start date
  • Must provide proof of having ABD status for a PhD in (biology, cell signaling, pharmaceutical sciences, medical sciences) or a related discipline by the time of hire.
  • Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.
