About The Position

The Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Alberta is recruiting a full-time Postdoctoral Scholar to join an interdisciplinary research program focused on technology-enabled models of care for individuals living with chronic disease and those preparing for major procedures. Working with a collaborative team led by Dr. Puneeta Tandon and Dr. Ashley Hyde, the Postdoctoral Scholar will contribute to the evaluation, implementation, and optimization of personalized digital and hybrid care pathways in cardiac rehabilitation and prehabilitation. The program emphasizes user experience, engagement, personalization, wearable-enabled assessment, and real-world deployment within existing clinical workflows. This position offers strong opportunities for first-author publications, grant writing, student mentorship, and career development, and is well-suited to candidates pursuing academic or health-system research careers in digital health, rehabilitation science, or implementation science.

Requirements

  • A Ph.D. or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Experience in digital health interventions.
  • Experience in cardiac rehabilitation or prehabilitation.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
