About The Position

The A.J. Drexel Nanomaterials Institute and Professor Yury Gogotsi are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to provide leadership to a team of PhD and undergraduate students focused on the synthesis and processing of MXenes. This role involves close collaboration with the Director, staff, students, and partner companies and national labs, offering leadership within a large research project.

Requirements

Minimum of a PhD or Doctorate in Materials Science, Chemistry, or a closely related field.
Minimum of 2+ years working in a chemistry or materials lab.
Must be a strong experimentalist with demonstrated hands-on laboratory experience.
Must be a U.S. citizen to qualify to work on this specific project.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with a national lab, academic and industrial partners on research projects.
Offer guidance in the group’s research efforts in synthesizing and characterizing 2D materials.
Perform key research activities, including synthesis (high-temperature and wet chemical etching) and characterization (SEM, TEM, Raman spectroscopy etc.) of MXenes.
Assist in writing research proposals and reports.
All other duties as assigned.
