A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Tuoqi Wu in the Department of Immunology and the Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center at the UT Southwestern Medical Center. Ongoing projects in the laboratory include: 1) understanding the molecular mechanism of T-cell stemness and T-cell exhaustion, 2) identifying novel targets for improving the efficacy of cancer immunotherapy, and 3) understanding age-associated immune dysfunction in the CNS. Studies will utilize cutting-edge next-generation sequencing, genome editing, bioinformatics as well as molecular and cellular immunology approaches. Dr. Wu received his PhD degree from Emory University under the supervision of Dr. Rafi Ahmed. He performed his postdoctoral research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Dr. Wu is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Immunology at the UT Southwestern Medical Center. His research is supported by the NIH, the Cancer Research Institute, the V foundation for Cancer Research, the American Federation for Aging Research, Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas, and generous startup fund from UT Southwestern. His scientific contributions have been recognized by several prestigious awards including the Cancer Research Institute Lloyd J. Old STAR Award, the Hevolution/AFAR New Investigator Award, the ICIS-Regeneron New Investigator Award, the ASPIRE Award for Outstanding Early-Career Investigators, and the V Foundation for Cancer Research V Scholar Award.
