The Chitnis Translational Neuroimmunology Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral fellow to join the team of researchers working on multiple sclerosis and neuroimmunological disorders, with a focus on understanding the role of Epstein Barr virus in multiple sclerosis, as well as novel therapeutic targets. Studies include human control and disease samples, with correlation to clinical outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a background in immunology basic research and/or molecular biology and computation with experience in techniques including proteomic and single cell transcriptomic analysis, flow cytometry, cell culture and RT-qPCR. The postdoctoral fellow will function as part of a team of researchers which includes bench scientists, clinicians, bioinformatics, data analysts and trainees. Prioritized candidates should demonstrate excellent scientific productivity, evidenced by high-quality publications, and be highly-motivated to conduct independent research. Candidates should have a strong background in molecular biology techniques and the ability to conduct research using human samples and/or animal models. He/she should also be competent in FACS and single-cell techniques. Additionally, candidates should display good communication, presentation and inter-personal skills. M.D., Ph.D., or equivalent is required. A minimum two-year commitment is required.
