About The Position
This position is for a Postdoctoral Associate who will perform key experiments in the Laboratory of Advanced Biomaterials (PI: Jeong) in Department of Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering. The main field of research in Laboratory of Advanced Biomaterials is synthesis of novel biomaterials and their applications in regenerative medicine.
Requirements
- PhD
- Polymer synthesis/modifications
- Human cell culture
- Biological characterizations/assays (e.g. qRT-PCR, ELISA, confocal microscopy)
Nice To Haves
- PhD in Chemical Engineering or Bioengineering
Responsibilities
- Design and perform experiments for the proposal that is being developed (50%)
- Neural stem cell differentiation into functioning neurons and oligodendrocytes in microgel assemblies
- Cardiac differentiation of human induced pluripotent stem cells in microgel assemblies
- NIH and DOW proposal preparation (50%)
- The research associate will provide help with proposal writing. More particularly, finding proper references, creating schematic diagrams and compiling preliminary data for the proposal.
