The Institute for a Disaster Resilient Texas (IDRT) at Texas A&M University is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to conduct research and project tasks related to disaster resilience, coastal engineering, hydrodynamic and morphodynamic coastal processes, and flood risk reduction. The position involves contributing to collaborative research efforts on storm surge suppression systems, focusing on beach and dune modeling or hydrodynamic field data collection and analysis. The IDRT aims to bridge the gap between research and decision-making by providing analytics, tools, and solutions for disaster preparedness, response, and recovery. The Department of Ocean Engineering conducts research in offshore and coastal systems to understand coastal processes and engineering systems that protect against storm damage. This position is funded by grants and contracts, contingent upon continued funding and satisfactory performance.
