The Research Foundation of The City University of New York (RFCUNY) is seeking a postdoctoral research associate for the Initiative for the Theoretical Sciences at the CUNY Graduate Center. This role involves independent and collaborative research in disciplines utilizing large-scale computation, simulation, or data-driven methods. The associate will leverage the computational power of Empire AI, design scalable algorithms for GPU clusters, manage distributed computation and storage, and develop analysis pipelines connecting data to rigorous mathematics. The position encourages proposals that advance computational practices through large simulations, extensive searches, or generative models guided by mathematical structures. The associate will benefit from the intellectual environment of the CUNY Graduate Center, engaging with departments like Mathematics, Physics, Biology, and Computer Science, as well as the Initiative for Theoretical Sciences. Professional development will be supported through engagement with the broader mathematics community, leading to publications and conference presentations.
