Postdoctoral Research Associate - Electrochemical Energy Storage Systems

Brookhaven National LaboratoryRidge, NY
$75,000 - $85,000Onsite

About The Position

This position is in the Energy and Photon Sciences Directorate, within the Energy Storage Division. The capabilities of Energy Storage Division include deep knowledge of in situ and operando characterization of electrochemical energy storage processes from the material level to the systems level. The facilities include access to a humidity-controlled dryroom for fabrication, testing, and analysis of prototype batteries. The facility includes a state-of-the-art pouch cell fabrication line for generation of high quality, high precision and high capacity batteries in a commercially relevant form factor. This position involves design, investigation, and application testing of electrochemical energy storage systems (batteries) for varied use cases. Preparation and characterization of novel and emerging energy storage systems will be required. Elucidation of the functional operation of batteries under different operating environments will be a focus for the position.

Requirements
