About The Position

The University of New Hampshire Prevention Innovations Research Center (PIRC) is seeking a post-doctoral scholar to assist in the administration of several research projects related to sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking and harassment prevention. The Postdoctoral Scholar will play a central role in the design, implementation, and dissemination of multiple externally funded research projects, including a randomized controlled trial (RCT) evaluating e-health interventions related to sexual violence prevention and alcohol misuse and the development and evaluation of an online sexual harassment booster training session, using applied theater, for academic engineering environments. The position requires a high level of methodological rigor, project management expertise, and demonstrated leadership in research team coordination. The position is grant funded from June 1, 2026-June 30, 2027, with the possibility of applying for additional funding for the position continuation. The position is full-time and includes benefits. Hybrid work options are available.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. (completed or near completion) in psychology, sociology, public health, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in empirical research, including study design, data collection, and analysis.
  • Evidence of scholarly productivity (e.g., peer-reviewed publications, manuscripts under review).
  • Experience working on federally funded research projects (e.g., NIH, NSF, DOJ).
  • Strong commitment to research on sexual violence, relationship violence, and stalking prevention.
  • Commitment to researcher/practitioner collaboration.
  • Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, Stata, R, Atlas.ti, NVivo, Qualtrics).
  • Strong analytic skills, including the ability to manage complex datasets and apply appropriate statistical techniques.
  • Knowledge of ethical and methodological considerations in research involving sensitive populations.
  • Experience preparing and submitting IRB applications and amendments.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to translate research findings for diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively and to troubleshoot methodological and technical challenges.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing or coordinating randomized controlled trials or longitudinal studies.
  • Advanced training in both quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
  • Prior experience supervising or mentoring undergraduate or graduate research assistants.
  • Experience with grant writing or contributing to funded proposals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the day-to-day coordination and execution of federally funded research projects, including a multi-site randomized controlled trial.
  • Oversee participant recruitment, enrollment, and retention strategies, ensuring adherence to study protocols and ethical standards.
  • Manage intervention implementation, including preparation, tracking, and quality assurance of study materials.
  • Design and administer data collection activities (e.g., surveys, focus groups, longitudinal follow-ups).
  • Conduct advanced quantitative and qualitative analyses using appropriate statistical and analytic software.
  • Lead and contribute to peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations.
  • Contribute to grant development, including drafting sections of federal and foundation proposals
  • Ensure compliance with Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocols and federal research regulations.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor an undergraduate research team, including: Developing training materials and research protocols. Delegating and monitoring research tasks (e.g., data collection, coding, participant outreach). Providing ongoing feedback and professional development support. Ensuring data quality, consistency, and adherence to research standards across team members.
