About The Position

Provide behavioral health consultation to children, adolescents, adults and families in order to improve psychosocial functioning under the supervision of a licensed psychologist while participating in required fellowship training activities (e.g., supervision, didactics, case consultation, and quality improvement).

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in Psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.)
  • Completion of an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship
  • Eligibility for licensure as a psychologist in the state of practice

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive assessment and diagnosis of behavioral health patients.
  • Provide effective treatment planning and assisting patients in successfully achieving goals.
  • Evaluate crisis situations and apply appropriate interventions.
  • Actively participate in meetings that support HSO’s integrated healthcare model to provide comprehensive care for patients.
  • Assist in the detection of “at risk” patients and development of plans to prevent further psychological or physical deterioration.
  • Assist the primary care team in developing care management processes such as the use of guidelines, disease management techniques, case management, and patient education to improve self-management of chronic disease.
  • Provide assessment consultation, and brief intervention for psychological/psychiatric problems and/or disorders.
  • Teach patients, families, and staff care, prevention, and treatment enhancement techniques.
  • Monitor the site’s behavioral health program, identifying problems related to patient services and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Enhances HSO’s reputation by fostering ownership and personal responsibility for exceeding patient service expectations.
  • Engage in structured training and supervision to achieve mastery in APA Profession-Wide Competencies, including evidence-based intervention, assessment, ethical practice, and interprofessional consultation within an integrated care setting; and attend CFHA annual conference.
