About The Position

The Tulane Global Humanities Center (TGHC) is a new interdisciplinary center within Tulane's School of Liberal Arts, dedicated to supporting humanities scholarship and education. TGHC fosters a community for all humanities scholars at Tulane and its programming centers around a biennial theme, with the initial theme being Global Port Cities.

Requirements

  • PhD in a humanities or humanistic social science discipline.
  • PhD conferred no earlier than 2022 and no later than September 1, 2026.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in academic or commercial publishing.
  • Experience collaborating with museums, humanities centers, or non-academic community partners.

Responsibilities

  • Work on an independent project, such as revising a dissertation, developing a book proposal, writing a scholarly article, or creating a public humanities project (e.g., an exhibit, symposium, or publication) linked to TGHC or PC.
  • Be in residence for the two-year term.
  • Actively participate in Public Culture's editorial work and TGHC's programming.
