About The Position

This position involves leading the synthesis and processing of quasi-one-dimensional van der Waals nanomaterials. The fellow will fabricate nanowire devices and conduct electrical transport measurements to understand the relationship between atomic-scale structural features and electronic performance. Collaboration on AI and machine learning guided synthesis optimization and structural characterization using electron microscopy and synchrotron-based techniques are key components. Active participation in scientific writing, presentations, and proposal development is also expected.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Physics, Materials Science, or a related field by the start date.
  • Strong background in electronic transport and condensed matter physics.
  • Experience with low dimensional or van der Waals material synthesis.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with atomic resolution characterization techniques.
  • Familiarity with data driven experimental approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Lead synthesis and processing of quasi-one-dimensional van der Waals nanomaterials.
  • Fabricate nanowire devices.
  • Perform electrical transport measurements to probe how atomic scale structural features translate into electronic performance.
  • Collaborate with team members on AI and machine learning guided synthesis optimization.
  • Contribute to structural characterization using electron microscopy and synchrotron based techniques.
  • Actively participate in scientific writing, presentations, and proposal development.
