The University of South Florida has several openings for a Postdoctoral Fellow in Dr. Rahul Shinde’s laboratory. The Shinde Lab studies how the gut microbiome shapes immune and metabolic responses during cancer progression, focusing on mechanistic links among microbial signals, macrophage function, and disease development. The lab combines in vitro methodologies, genomics and proteomics approaches, mouse models of tumorigenesis, and patient-derived materials to identify and target pathways linking the microbiome, metabolism, and immune responses in cancer. The Postdoctoral Fellow will conduct independent research on the gut microbiome’s role in cancer progression and its impact on immune responses. The role includes designing and carrying out experiments, analyzing and interpreting data, collaborating with lab members and external researchers, presenting and publishing findings, mentoring junior researchers and students, maintaining laboratory records, and keeping current with advances in the field.
