About The Position

Emory University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow in Neuroimaging to analyze clinical and neuroimaging data to support translational and clinical research initiatives. This role involves working with investigators on psychedelic clinical trials, including MDMA and psilocybin-assisted therapy RCTs for PTSD. The fellow will have significant opportunities for data analysis, publication, grantsmanship, and exposure to cutting-edge team science. The position is a temporary appointment as a research trainee, with an initial one-year term, renewable based on satisfactory progress and funding availability, not to exceed five years.

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or equivalent (Ph.D., M.D., ScD., D.V.M., DDS etc) in an appropriate field.
  • Excellent scientific writing ability.
  • Strong oral communication skills.
  • The ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues.
  • Additional qualifications as specified by the Principal Investigator.

Nice To Haves

  • PhD in Neuroscience, Psychology, Biomedical Engineering
  • Experience with MRI data acquisition and/or analysis

Responsibilities

  • Analyze clinical and neuroimaging data to support translational and clinical research initiatives.
  • Contribute to data acquisition, neuroimaging analyses, and project management.
  • Apply neuroimaging analysis techniques to real-world research questions.
  • Assist with grant preparation and other funding applications.
  • Serve as principal investigator on funded grant proposals with approval from the faculty director.
  • Design and conduct research within a specified field while receiving advanced training.
  • Design and evaluate experiments.
  • Develop new ideas that promote current research.
  • Prepare and publish scientific manuscripts under the direction of the Principal Investigator.
  • Operate specific equipment.
  • Teach techniques to others, train, and supervise research staff.
