We have an opening for a talented postdoctoral fellow to join the laboratory of Dr. Christine Moussion in the research department of Immunology Discovery at Genentech. The lab study Tissue Microenvironment and mechanisms of resistance to treatment in Chronic Inflammatory Diseases and Cancer by leveraging in vivo screens with a novel high content imaging platform named STAMP (Skin Tissue Array by Micro Poration, Ortiz-Munoz et al, Nature, 2023).

Requirements

  • A relevant PhD in Immunology, Cancer Immunology, Cell biology, Molecular biology, Genomics, or Vascular biology with a strong in vivo research background.
  • Experience with in vivo rodent models and immunology is mandatory
  • Expected to work closely with computational scientists for big data analysis (AI, image analysis, genetics and single cell/spatial transcriptomics).
  • Expertise in a wide range of molecular and cellular biology techniques as well as immunological principles and techniques including microscopy, isolation and culture of primary cells, Immune cell functional assays, flow cytometry and Immunohistochemistry.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills as well as a track record of working in highly collaborative environments is a must - a track record of completing challenging technical problems independently and creatively, exemplified by publication of research in high-quality scientific journals is required.
  • A creative problem-solving spirit, and the ability to integrate detailed analyses into a larger disease-oriented context will be expected.

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates with demonstrable expertise in Imaging or Genetic screens will be given preference.
  • Omics, imaging or computational expertise is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Make intellectual as well as technical contributions by leading cross-functional projects.
  • Read literature to independently design, execute and analyze experiments.
  • Frequently communicate with other departments as part of a diverse and multidisciplinary community, working in a highly dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Present the work to various forums across the research organization, international conference and publish articles.
