About The Position

The Postdoctoral Associate will support the Principal Investigator, Dr. Fang Luo, in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The incumbent will conduct research within the predetermined research scope and methodology, focusing on the field of power electronics.

Requirements

  • PhD degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field in hand by the commencement of the appointment.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of research experience with a strong emphasis on hands-on experiments.
  • Expertise in Power module packaging and integration.
  • Expertise in High-density power converter design/prototyping, topology/loss analysis (including magnetic losses), thermal/EMI analysis.
  • Expertise in EMI emission and filter design/modeling/integration, and active filtering.
  • Expertise in Converter control/modeling, including and not limited to high-speed motor drive and grid-tied converters.
  • Expertise in High voltage engineering and converter degradation/failure analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead/support projects for high-density power converter and module development.
  • Assist in proposal development, group outreach, and student mentoring.
  • Contribute to the development of new training courses.
  • Other duties as assigned.
