About The Position

Calibr-Skaggs Institute for Innovative Medicines, a division of Scripps Research, is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to join its medicinal chemistry group and contribute to early-stage translational research. The postdoctoral researcher will work with an interdisciplinary team to synthesize and characterize small molecules representing potential new therapeutic approaches to unmet medical needs. The work includes designing and synthesizing analogs to optimize potency, pharmacokinetics, safety, and in vivo efficacy of potential drug candidates. Research findings will be published in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals. Postdoctoral Associate appointments are intended to develop scholarly competence and are conducted under the supervision of a Scripps Research faculty member. Appointments are normally not renewed beyond five total years. Associates may not apply for external funding as a Principal Investigator or Co-Principal Investigator without prior approval from a Departmental Chair, and they do not have consulting privileges. The position is based on site at the La Jolla campus.
