The Williamson Lab is conducting an interdisciplinary project investigating the coupling of methionine metabolism to RNA modifications on rRNA and tRNA in cancer cells. The project uses a multi-omics approach involving metabolomics, modomics (RNA mass spectrometry), RNA-seq, Ribo-seq, and proteomics. It is conducted by an interdisciplinary team within the lab in collaboration with the Siuzdak Lab at Scripps and Rachel Green’s Lab at Johns Hopkins, as part of the U01 RNAmodO consortium supported by the National Cancer Institute. Postdoctoral Associates are appointed to develop scholarly competence under the supervision of a Scripps Research faculty member. Appointments are normally not renewed beyond a total of five years. Postdoctoral Associates may not apply for external funding as a Principal Investigator or Co-Principal Investigator without prior approval from a Departmental Chair, and do not have consulting privileges. Applicants should submit a CV, a brief research summary, and the names of three references.
