About The Position

One NIH-funded postdoctoral fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Lu Huang in the Department of Virology, Immunology and Microbiology at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. The Huang laboratory focuses on innate immune responses during Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection, with a particular focus on the immunometabolism of innate immune cells, including macrophages and neutrophils. The lab employs multidisciplinary approaches including immunology, microbiology, cell biology, metabolism, and genomics to address fundamental questions in host–pathogen interactions and innate immune responses in the lung.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Immunology, Microbiology, Lung Biology, Cell Biology or a related field.
  • Extensive experiences in small animal procedures.
  • Extensive experiences in flow cytometry.
  • Extensive experiences in immune cell purification and culture.
  • Solid background in macrophage biology.
  • Solid background in innate immunity.
  • Solid background in immunometabolism.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic research environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in working in a Biosafety Level 3 laboratory.
