About The Position

The Postdoctoral Associate will assist the Principal Investigator in the Department of Medicine and Cancer Center with cancer research. The incumbent will conduct research and ensure experiments are performed in accordance with Stony Brook University policies and procedures. The role includes conducting experiments within a predetermined research scope and methodology, collecting and analyzing data, contributing to scientific manuscripts and presentations, maintaining the laboratory, and completing other assigned duties. Duties may include attending scientific conferences and meetings.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree or foreign equivalent in Genetics, Biology, or a closely related field, in hand by October 31, 2026.
• Experience with cell culture and molecular biology techniques, including but not limited to western blot, RT-PCR, immunoprecipitation, and chromatin immunoprecipitation.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with publications.
• Programming and statistical analysis skills using R, Perl and/or Python and shell.
• Experience in genomics or transcriptomics analysis and single-cell analysis.
• Experience integrating multiple omics, including single-cell RNA-Seq and bulk RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq, ATAC-Seq, DNase-Seq, gene expression microarray, and methylation microarray.

Responsibilities

• Conduct cancer biology research experiments within the predetermined research scope and methodology.
• Collect and analyze data, including conducting periodic literature searches and applying specialized skills in the related field.
• Participate in or assist with writing manuscripts for scientific journals and preparing presentations; may also assist with grant writing.
• Maintain the laboratory, including maintaining equipment and ordering supplies as needed.
• Perform other assigned duties, which may include attending scientific conferences and meetings.
• Ensure experiments are conducted in accordance with Stony Brook University policies and procedures.
