About The Position

The University of Miami’s College of Arts and Sciences is hiring a full-time Post Doctoral Associate in the Department of Computer Science in Coral Gables, Florida. The Liang lab seeks a candidate to develop and apply atlas-based machine learning for pediatric bone age assessment. Under the supervision of managing staff, the associate performs scientific research and studies and contributes to the scientific community through scholarly work.

Requirements

• Doctorate degree in a relevant field.
• Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols, and adapt to changing priorities and work demands.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.
• Skill in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on assigned areas of study.
• Prepare research reports and technical papers for publication.
• Investigate the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and theories.
• Maintain substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories.
• Develop advanced analytical models and systems and provide solutions and analyses to support strategic and tactical decisions.
• Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.
• Perform other duties or responsibilities as necessary.
