About The Position

The College of Engineering’s Department of Materials Science and Engineering is seeking a Post Doctoral Scholar to work under the supervision of Dr. Heather Powell. The Post Doctoral Scholar will be responsible for developing and optimizing protocols for quantitative skin health assessment on amputee subjects. The Post Doctoral Scholar will analyze data, create figures and write manuscripts. The Post Doctoral Scholar will assist with murine surgeries and cell culture studies.

Requirements

  • PhD in Materials Science and Engineering or equivalent.
  • Must be familiar with skin health data collection on humans.
  • Must have completed CITI training for human subjects research.
  • Must have murine skin grafting skills.
  • Must be certified for animal surgery.

Nice To Haves

  • Scaffold fabrication experience.
  • Cell culture experience.
