About The Position

A postdoctoral scholar position is available in the Division of Pharmaceutics and Pharmacology with The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy. Our key research theme is the rational design of non-viral gene therapy for serious diseases, inspired by the intrinsic nature of extracellular vesicle (EV)-mediated intercellular communication. Our highly multidisciplinary and collaborative research spans pharmaceutical engineering, materials chemistry, EV biology, immunology, protein and genetic engineering, and data science. The current focuses of our group include biohybrid lipid nanoparticle platform development for DNA delivery; mRNA-based non-viral cancer immunogene therapy; and lipid nanoparticle platform development for inhalable mRNA delivery.

Requirements

  • PhD degree in pharmaceutical sciences, chemical and biomedical engineering or equivalent combinations of education and experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong background in one or more of the following areas: non-viral gene delivery, nanomedicine, materials chemistry, biomedical engineering, protein engineering, immunology, cancer biology, or extracellular vesicle biology and engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design and execute experiments of considerable scope and complexity
  • Coordinate the processing and analysis of data
  • Develop and troubleshoot new experimental techniques and protocols
  • Attend research seminars and conferences
  • Draft and publish the manuscript
