About The Position

Saint Louis University’s Zhang Lab seeks a postdoctoral fellow to conduct research in bioinformatics, comparative genomics, structural analysis, and machine learning. The fellow will prepare manuscripts and grant proposals, contribute to securing external research funding, mentor graduate and undergraduate students, and support a collaborative research environment. The role also involves presenting findings at national and international scientific conferences and publishing in leading peer-reviewed journals.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biology, Computer Science, or a closely related field with computational training.
• Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following: protein bioinformatics, comparative genomics, evolutionary biology, machine learning, or structural bioinformatics.
• Strong programming skills in Python and proficiency in Unix/Linux environments.
• Demonstrated record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary research team.
