Bhatt Lab, Winship Cancer Institute, Emory Non-genetic mechanisms of therapy resistance in leukemia | NCI R37-funded We're looking for a postdoc to join our team studying how leukemia cells dodge therapy through non-genetic and epigenetic adaptation (drug-tolerant persister states). The position will be funded through the new award - NCI R37 MERIT Award. Bhatt lab ( https://www.bhatt-lab.com/) is based at Winship Cancer Institute with a joint home in the GT–Emory Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering, so there's a good mix of hematology, engineering, and computational folks around. What we're looking for: Fresh PhD grads with no more than 1-2 years of postdoc experience Solid wet-lab chops, and genuinely comfortable with epigenetics (ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, chromatin stuff) Not afraid of computational/genomic data — you don't need to be a bioinformatician, but you should be able to dig into sequencing datasets and work with people who are Some evidence you can write and finish projects (papers, preprints, a solid thesis) Someone who's independent but also likes being part of a team JOB DESCRIPTION: Helps design and conduct research within a specified field while receiving advanced training from a designated Principal Investigator to enhance professional skills and research independence needed for pursuit of a career. The specific area of research in which the trainee is mentored is determined by the department and laboratory of the Postdoc. Designs and evaluates experiments. Develops new ideas that promote current research. Prepares and publishes scientific manuscripts under the direction of the Principal Investigator. May be responsible for operation of specific equipment. May teach techniques to others, train, and supervise research staff. Positions are temporary appointments as a research trainee. The initial appointment is for one year, renewal expected if progress is satisfactory and funds are available. Appointments cannot exceed five years.
