About The Position

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) is seeking a Post Doctoral Fellow for the Institute for Translational Medicine and Pharmacology. This role will engage in basic and translational research projects focused on the study of the mechanism of reduction of adiposity induced by an FSH antibody. The position is for a 4th-year post-doc and is located at 1428 Madison Ave, NY, NY 10029. The PI or Supervisor is Tony Yuen.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in basic and translational research projects focused on the study of mechanism of reduction of adiposity induced by an FSH antibody.
  • Use mouse models in which specific genes are selectively deleted in the adipocytes, osteoclasts, or osteoblasts in order to investigate their effect on fat and bone cells by cell phenotyping, in vitro and/or ex vivo functional assays.
  • Use histomorphometry, micro-CT, quantitative NMR, and molecular biology techniques to investigate how FSH inhibition affects adipose tissue and bone.
