About The Position

The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to high-impact publications, collaborate with a broad network of research and management partners, assist in developing competitive research proposals, and help shape future research directions within the Snowden Waterfowl Center of Excellence. The successful candidate should possess strong quantitative and analytical skills, experience with spatial ecology and movement analyses, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary research environment.

Requirements

  • Earned a Ph.D. in wildlife science, landscape ecology, geospatial science, waterfowl ecology, or a closely related field.
  • Possess strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Experience with spatial ecology and movement analyses.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary research environment.
  • Possess a valid U.S. driver's license (or obtain one within 60 days of employment).
  • Fieldwork, overnight travel, and attendance at scientific conferences will be included.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with GPS telemetry and animal movement analyses.
  • Experience with Geospatial analysis, GIS, and remote sensing.
  • Experience with Statistical, ecological, and machine-learning modeling using modern analytical software (e.g., R or Python).
  • Experience with Google Earth Engine and cloud-based geospatial analysis.
  • Experience with Spatial visualization, mapping applications, and predictive ecological modeling.
