Post-Doc Research Associate

UNC-Chapel Hill•Chapel Hill, NC

About The Position

This Postdoctoral Research Associate will support studies examining the role of the tumor-intrinsic NLRP3 inflammasome in immune evasion associated with tumor dormancy, treatment-resistant persistor cell development, tumor relapse, and metastatic progression. The work involves ex vivo tumor–T cell co-culture assays, in vivo tumor models, and tumor clinical specimens. Techniques include CRISPR/Cas9-targeted gene deletion, microbead and FACS cell purification, flow cytometry analysis, Western blot, qRT-PCR, ELISA, RNA-seq, scRNA-seq, micro-CT imaging, IHC, FISH, and proximity ligation assays. Additional work performing and analyzing spatial transcriptomics may also be involved.

Requirements

  • Experience conducting mouse tumor model studies.
  • Experience conducting tissue culture studies.
  • Familiarity with flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience conducting and analyzing RNA-seq transcriptional analysis.
  • Experience using CRISPR/Cas9.
