About the Freeman Lab: The Freeman Lab, in the Department of Applied Physical Sciences at UNC -Chapel Hill, is an interdisciplinary team seeking to develop life-like materials. Principal Investigator Dr. Ronit Freeman takes an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to science discovery and innovation, as reflected in the diverse backgrounds of our team members and collaborators. Role description: The Freeman Lab seeks a Postdoctoral Research Fellow/Research Associate with expertise in DNA origami and DNA nanotechnology.

Requirements

  • PHD in Materials Science, Biochemistry/Chemistry or in Biophysics/Structural-Biology or similar.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the design and characterization of DNA origami and functional DNA materials.
  • Strong track record of well-organized study design and implementation.
  • Ability to work independently and across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • A team player, clear communicator, with a strong work ethic.
  • Familiarity with confocal laser scanning microscopy
  • Strong understanding of cell biology, physiology, and/or tissue engineering.
  • Cell culture experience.
  • Experience with microfluidics.
  • Experience working with stem cells.
  • Experience with flow cytometry, ELISAs, PCR , or confocal microscopy.
