About The Position

A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Lin Chen at the Department of Periodontics, Center for Wound Healing and Tissue Regeneration, College of Dentistry, University of Illinois Chicago. This research project, supported by industry funding, aims to establish in vitro models of stress-induced senescence in mammalian cells.

Requirements

  • MD and/or PhD in cell biology, immunology, physiology, biochemistry, or a related biomedical science field.
  • Strong self-motivation, scientific rigor, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in molecular and cell biology techniques.
  • Track record of first-author publications.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Principal Investigator and research team to achieve project objectives.
  • Design experiments
  • Perform and troubleshoot experiments
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data.
  • Maintain detailed lab notebooks and write reports.
  • Supervise and mentor research students in technical and methodological aspects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
