About The Position

The POS Clerk at PAY-LESS is responsible for providing excellent customer service by efficiently handling sales transactions at the point of sale (POS) terminal. This role ensures accuracy in cash handling, maintains a clean and organized checkout area, and assists customers with inquiries to enhance their shopping experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a retail or customer service environment.
  • Experience handling cash transactions and operating Point of Sale (POS) systems.
  • Strong numerical skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in basic computer operations and familiarity with POS software.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the POS terminal to process customer transactions, including cash, credit, and debit payments.
  • Accurately handle cash and maintain a balanced cash drawer.
  • Provide prompt and courteous service to customers, addressing their needs and resolving any issues.
  • Assist customers with product inquiries and provide information on promotions and discounts.
  • Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring all supplies are stocked and readily available.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient store operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures regarding transactions, security, and customer service.
  • Report any discrepancies or issues to the supervisor promptly.
