About The Position

Schochet is seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to oversee multiple sites, primarily in the Greater Boston area and points north. The portfolio consists mostly of subsidized housing. This role involves overseeing property performance, compliance, and resident satisfaction, while leading a team of on-site managers. The company is an expanding property management firm with opportunities for career advancement and a diverse team. Schochet is a leader in multifamily development and property management, with expertise in affordable housing, managing nearly 6,000 apartments and 125,000 square feet of commercial space throughout New England. Requirements

  • Team player and able to supervise a staff of 10+
  • Experience with large sites (250+ units)
  • COS or CPO certification required
  • 7-10 years of Property Management experience required
  • Must be able to travel to different property locations on a regular basis.
  • Pre-employment background check & drug test required.

Nice To Haves

  • CPM-Certified Property Manager preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of property performance, compliance, and resident satisfaction, while leading a team of on-site managers in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and manage property budgets, including rent rolls, operating expenses, and capital improvement plans, to help each property achieve its financial objectives.
  • Assist Director of Portfolio Operations to ensure accurate and timely reporting of key operation statistics for the entire portfolio.
  • Supervise, train, and support property managers and on-site teams, providing mentorship and fostering professional development.
  • Work closely with Vice President of Human Resources on various personnel functions including staffing, employee evaluations, employee retention, and employee development for assigned portfolio.
  • Ensure consistent application of HUD and/or state agency program rules and regulations for assigned portfolio and assist Director of Portfolio Operations with these issues as needed for entire portfolio.
  • Complete all other assigned duties as needed.
  • Provide strong leadership and supervision for a portfolio of 10 to 15 scattered properties managed by Property Managers or other on-site staff.
  • Make sound judgments, independent decisions, and be accountable for property performance and results.
