About The Position

We’re seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to join our Commercial Credit team in Salem, New Hampshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a banking professional who enjoys financial analysis, commercial lending, and credit risk management while working closely with lenders and business clients. As a Portfolio Manager, you’ll help oversee an assigned portfolio of commercial credit relationships while supporting underwriting, financial analysis, and ongoing portfolio monitoring.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–5 years of experience in commercial banking, credit analysis, underwriting, portfolio management, or commercial lending
  • Strong understanding of financial statement analysis and commercial credit underwriting
  • Experience managing or supporting commercial loan portfolios
  • Ability to evaluate financial risk and make sound credit recommendations
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word

Responsibilities

  • Analyze commercial borrowers’ financial statements, cash flow, and creditworthiness
  • Perform credit underwriting and evaluate new and existing lending opportunities
  • Prepare annual credit reviews, renewals, and risk assessments
  • Monitor commercial loan portfolios for covenant compliance and overall asset quality
  • Identify potential credit concerns and recommend appropriate risk mitigation strategies
  • Assist with structuring commercial loan transactions and financing solutions
  • Maintain accurate loan files, documentation, and portfolio records
  • Partner closely with Commercial Lenders and Credit Administration to support lending activities
  • Participate in client meetings and relationship management efforts when appropriate
  • Prepare reports and credit recommendations for internal stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with bank policies, regulatory guidelines, and underwriting standards
