About The Position
The Porter is responsible for the safe and efficient handling of customer and company-owned vehicles. The role does not lead others. The Porter greets customers entering the service area and directs them to the service write-up area, prepares and parks vehicles, maintains the lot and loaner vehicles, and assists with vehicle cleaning and detailing. The position also performs alignment checks and communicates vehicle repair needs to management.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Effective oral, written, and listening communication skills.
- Ability to work well with customers, promote a positive company image, and strive to resolve customer-raised issues.
- Ability to adapt to and embrace change with an internal and external customer-centric mindset.
- Commitment to advocating for teammates and to technology advancement.
Nice To Haves
- 1–2 years of experience in a customer-service-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers entering the service area and direct them to the service write-up area.
- Tag vehicles and install floor mats and seat covers.
- Park vehicles in appropriate locations and maintain an organized lot, including removing debris and snow.
- Maintain loaner vehicles by washing them, filling their gas tanks, and parking them in designated areas.
- Inform management of needed mechanical or body repairs.
- Perform alignment checks in the drive-through and provide color alignment printouts to Service Consultants while customers are still in the office.
- Clean, wash, and detail customer vehicles, the shop, and the service drive as needed.
