About The Position

This is an entry-level food service position involving simple manual and heavy labor tasks connected with operating the Central Kitchen, middle schools, and high schools. The employee may assist food service truck drivers with daily deliveries, works under the direct supervision of a higher-level employee, and reports directly to that employee. Performs related work as required.

Requirements

• Some knowledge of proper methods for caring for kitchen appliances.
• Ability to lift heavy weights.
• Willingness to perform routine, recurring manual tasks.
• Thoroughness and dependability.
• Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
• No education or experience requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carries supplies to and from the storeroom.
• Washes pots and pans.
• Operates kitchen appliances and equipment.
• Receives early deliveries and puts milk in lowerators.
• Helps the cook with heavy lifting.
• Keeps freezers and refrigerators in order.
• Sweeps and mops floors in the kitchen, storeroom, walk-in freezer, and refrigerator.
• Cleans behind the serving counter in faculty and student lunchrooms.
• May assist food service truck drivers with daily deliveries.
