About The Position
The Porter assists the Maintenance Superintendent with the daily upkeep of the building and grounds and performs duties assigned by the Maintenance Superintendent. The work takes place in apartments, common areas, and on the property, with frequent interaction with residents and other staff members.
Requirements
- High school diploma required.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Regularly lift and move supplies and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and cleaning on grounds, parking lots, apartments, the office, laundry facilities, community restrooms, and common areas.
- Clean by vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and cleaning glass.
- Implement the Preventative Maintenance Schedule.
- Report building damage, vandalism, unusual circumstances or conditions, and related incidents in writing to the Community Leader.
- Monitor site lighting and report problems.
- Maintain records as required.
- Remove trash as required.
- Maintain adequate stock levels of janitorial and sanitation supplies.
- Perform other job-related duties as requested, subject to applicable state and federal laws.
