About The Position

The West Side Federation for Senior and Supportive Housing, Inc. (WSFSSH) is a community-based organization dedicated to providing safe, affordable housing with supportive services to enhance the independence and dignity of individuals. WSFSSH develops, manages, and provides housing for low-income older persons, many of whom live with mental illness and/or have experienced homelessness. This role is a Per-Diem/Temp position responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the residential building, including SRO units and public areas.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, or equivalent, required.
• Able to work in a multicultural and diverse environment.
• Able to perform job responsibilities.
• Able to speak, read, and write English (as required by DSS regulation 487.9.13).
• Experience working with dependent persons.

• Higher education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Regular maintenance (mopping, vacuuming, cleaning walls, handrails, surfaces, doors, collecting garbage) of common areas in the mezzanine and lobby, offices, stairwells, elevator, and laundry room.
• Ensure the sidewalk and front of the building are clean and free of hazards, including snow or ice.
• Regular cleaning of the elevator, including walls, interior and exterior doors, and door tracks.
• Regular maintenance of all shared bathrooms on the mezzanine, lobby, and resident floors, including cleaning surfaces, mopping floors, emptying garbage, and ensuring adequate supplies of paper products and soap.
• Maintain cleaning checklists.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
