About The Position

The Porter performs routine upkeep of the apartment community, including buildings, amenities, and surrounding areas, to ensure a welcoming impression for residents, guests, and on-site team members. This role is responsible for maintaining the community's curb appeal while communicating effectively and professionally. Assigned tasks are expected to be completed in a timely manner and may require operating tools and equipment in accordance with safety and operations standards. Requirements

  • Accurately perform basic mathematical functions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and reach using feet, legs, back, arms and hands.
  • May occasionally be required to climb.
  • Specific vision requirements include the ability to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Required to work at a personal computer.
  • Must possess the ability to detect auditory and/or visual alarms.
  • Maintain a commitment to ongoing professional development and career growth through our company’s continuing education programs.
  • Availability to work some nights, weekends, and occasional holidays.
  • Regular attendance and active participation/planning at company functions and events.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one year of Porter experience.
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Beginner computer and Internet knowledge.
  • Ability to use on-site resident management software.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for meticulous upkeep and trash removal of grounds, amenities, building exteriors, leasing office, parking lots, and community common areas.
  • Assist in the cleaning and preparation of units including trash removal from vacant apartments.
  • Complete weather preparation and clean up as needed.
  • Organize, maintain, and utilize provided supplies in a cost-effective manner.
  • Present an appearance appropriate to the image of the company.
  • Complete additional tasks or duties assigned by community leadership.
