About The Position

Under the direction of the Housekeeping Supervisor, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital the Housekeeping Porter is responsible for performing various cleaning functions/services throughout all areas of the Hospital campus; understanding and following Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) guidelines; and performing other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Grade 10 education
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to interact well with others
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to adapt readily to fast-paced situations
• Ability to retain information which is of a confidential nature
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, lift, twist and reach continuously throughout the entire shift
• Ability to lift a minimum of approximately 50 lbs./23 kgs
• Ability to lift, push and pull heavy weights, climb ladders/skyjack/scissor lift
• Current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check
