About The Position

Tidy Services is seeking a Portable Restroom Service Supervisor to lead a team of 5 to 7 service technicians serving customers in the extended Roanoke area. This is a management position responsible for understanding the cleaning, servicing, and repair processes for portable restrooms and other portable products, including restroom trailers, RV holding tanks, and external tanks used at trailers and temporary sites. The supervisor mentors, trains, and coaches the team and must adapt to changing situations while managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. The role manages daily operations for portable toilet services at the Salem, Virginia location, including route completion, dispatch coordination, driver performance, safety, training, customer issues, and operational improvement. Work is primarily outdoors in varying and extreme weather, and involves physical labor and exposure to noisy work sites and potentially hazardous debris. Normal business hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday; weekend work is scheduled as needed. The role is subject to 24-hour callback for emergencies. Appropriate training and safety equipment will be provided.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Intermediate or advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Strong employee relations background.
Ability to identify and resolve problems while maintaining professionalism.
Ability to build effective relationships with staff at all levels of the business.
Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to be flexible, adaptable, work under pressure, and handle competing demands.

Valid driver’s license.
Insurable driving record, including at least three years of driving experience, no major moving violations such as reckless driving or DUI, and no more than two minor moving violations in the past 12 months.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day portable toilet service operations at the Salem, Virginia location.
Ensure weekly and monthly service stops are completed on their assigned days.
Coordinate with dispatchers on scheduling and routing to maximize customer satisfaction, efficiency, and profitability.
Manage end-of-day check-ins and communicate key service, safety, and equipment issues.
Coordinate driver meetings with other departments, including training and company updates.
Train new drivers and ensure they meet company standards.
Review weekly route demand and volume, identify potential gains from rerouting, and make recommendations to dispatch.
Discipline drivers as needed, including issuing write-ups.
Lead continuous improvement, training, and efficiency initiatives.
Develop reports and analyses of operational performance and efficiency.
Set and monitor productivity, service, and safety targets for each driver using accurate data and reporting.
Ensure drivers complete physicals, drug or alcohol tests, and training required by regulatory agencies; maintain records required by agencies such as the Department of Transportation and OSHA.
Conduct root cause investigations for injuries and incidents and ensure consistent discipline and retraining.
Visit customer sites to evaluate and resolve safety issues, identify service alternatives where appropriate, and ensure setup errors and missed pickups are reported and resolved.
Deliver safety training and enforce the safety program.
Perform other responsibilities assigned by the General Manager.
