About The Position

Sampson County EMS is actively seeking two dedicated paramedics to implement and develop a community-based PORT Paramedic program to respond to substance abuse calls and potentially mental health crisis calls within the County. Working independently to navigate between patients and community resources, these key employees will develop and implement care and treatment plans specific to patient needs and make appropriate referrals to support positive outcomes. Employees must be highly motivated and able to collaborate with law enforcement and community leaders to educate and participate in community outreach efforts.

Requirements

  • North Carolina Paramedic Certification
  • Valid NC driver's license
  • Emergency Vehicle Driver Training
  • Post Overdose Response Training
  • ACLS certification
  • PALS certification
  • PHTLS certification
  • NIMS ICS 300 certification
  • NIMS ICS 400 certification

Responsibilities

  • Respond to substance abuse calls and potentially mental health crisis calls within the County.
  • Work independently to navigate between patients and community resources.
  • Develop and implement care and treatment plans specific to patient needs.
  • Make appropriate referrals to support positive outcomes.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and community leaders to educate and participate in community outreach efforts.
  • Work occasional extra shifts on the 911 ambulances.
