About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Port Operations, Safety & Security Manager or other designated supervisor, the Port Maintenance Foreman functions as a working foreman for Don Young Port of Alaska maintenance operations. This position plans, assigns, schedules, leads and monitors the work of assigned maintenance personnel engaged in the maintenance, repair, inspection, and operation of Port facilities, waterfront infrastructure, petroleum-related systems, heavy equipment, vehicles, mechanical systems, electrical components, hydraulic systems, and related operational infrastructure. The position coordinates daily and weekly work assignments, supports preventive maintenance planning, assists with training, reviews timecards, and work records for accuracy, supports on-call scheduling and after-hours response coordination, assists with contractor coordination, and special projects, and performs skilled maintenance work as needed to support safe, reliable and continuous Port operations. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Five (5) years of experience in the field related to the position.
• Three (3) years of which must have been in a lead position.
• Valid State of Alaska Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Tank (N) endorsement at time of hire.
• Satisfactory driving record at time of hire.
• Satisfactory drug screening at time of hire.
• Satisfactory background check which includes criminal, education, and employment history at time of hire.
• Forklift Operator Certification within 30 days of hire.
• Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) within 45 days of hire.
• Must be legally authorized to work and accept employment in the United States.
• All required certifications and licenses must remain current for the duration of employment.
