About The Position

The Pool & Spa Maintenance Tech is responsible for working in a team environment to ensure the overall upkeep and eye appeal of all Caldera Springs pool & spas and grounds. They will use a variety of tools, machines and other necessary materials to provide maintenance to the grounds and the resorts pool facilities. The Pool and Spa Maintenance Tech I will always conduct themselves in a manner which supports the Core Values of Sunriver Resort: Trust, Commitment, and Open and Honest Communication. They shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times and for exemplifying the Sunriver Resort Culture as well as promoting Sunriver Resort as both the Destination and Employer of Choice!

Requirements

  • Must be able to lift, carry, push & pull up to 50 lbs. and up to 75lbs with assistance
  • Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Must have valid Oregon Driver’s license and meet company driving standards
  • Must be able to act with a high level of autonomy
  • Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions (rain, sleet, ice, snow and heat)
  • Must be able to work well under pressure
  • Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Must possess excellent communication skills
  • Must be professional in appearance and demeanor
  • Must always ensure a teamwork environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Performs a wide variety of daily work on resort spa maintenance
  • Balancing chemicals, cleaning of pools and spas.
  • Performs periodic quality control check on spas
  • Performs bask washing pool filters as needed
  • Effectively fulfills job requirements in a safe and efficient manner
  • Comply with all Sunriver Resort’s policies, procedures and SAFETY regulations
  • Comply with Sunriver Resort’s grooming and uniform policy
  • Inspects machinery and mechanical equipment for defects
  • Dismantles machines or equipment to gain access to defective parts and repairs them, using hand tools.
  • Repairs and replaces gages, valves, pressure regulators and other plumbing equipment.
  • Makes minor repairs on electrical or replaces wiring and fixtures
  • Paint walls, floors and fixtures of establishment, using spray gun and brushes
  • Responsible for assisting in the routine upkeep and landscape of the adopt-a-road program
  • Helps maintain Quarry locker rooms including shower stalls, toilets & urinals, mirrors and sinks, countertops and floors
  • Maintains bike paths
  • Assists with maintaining all noxious weeds in the area
  • Cleans up downed trees by cutting and hauling to woodpiles
  • Maintains and cares for tennis/pickleball courts
  • Uses hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, hedge and brunch trimmers and axes
  • Gathers and removes litter
  • Maintains and repairs grounds tools and equipment
  • Provides proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, planters and other ground features
  • Irrigates plants/flowers
  • Assists with repairs of irrigations systems
  • Contacts appropriate party if when a guest problem is reported
  • Provides general resort information for guests
  • Offers warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests of Caldera Springs/homeowners as they may come in contact with guests during their daily duties
  • Resolves guest problems and is empowered to act in absence of manager
  • Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special events
  • Interacts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information
  • Up sells other resort services and amenities to guests
  • Always maintains a professional demeanor, appearance and attitude
  • Communicates all pertinent information to the CSOA team
  • Maintains constant awareness of safety issues, (i.e. broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks and suspicious persons). Reports all safety incidents to on-duty supervisor.
  • Acts with responsibility towards all company property, supplies and equipment.
  • Remains alert, courteous and helpful to the guests and colleagues at all times.
  • In winter months assist with custodial care of all Caldera Springs facilities; tasks include sweeping, moping, restroom care, vacuuming, pressure washing, etc.
