About The Position

Serve food and beverage items to customers in a friendly, enthusiastic, professional, and timely manner. Take orders for and serve all food and beverage requests, using suggestive selling techniques. Clear dining area during service. Control guest checks and secure proper payment. Ensure station and table set-ups are complete and perform various side duties as assigned by the Outlet Supervisor. Maintain proper condition and cleanliness of pool areas and servicing equipment.

Requirements

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
  • Must have a creative ability as well as able to teach.
  • Enjoys working with children of all ages.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must possess basic computational ability.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of computer accounting programs, math skills as well as budgetary analysis capabilities required.
  • Ability to solve problems and make rational decisions.
  • Ability to describe all menu items and methods of preparation to assist with building revenue and guest satisfaction.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length.
  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments of the hotel on a timely basis.
  • Must be able to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 30 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
  • Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. frequently.
  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space and to reach other locations of the hotel on a timely basis.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
  • Must be the minimum age to serve alcohol.
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits.
  • Must have valid Food Handler’s Card.
  • Must have valid TIPS/RBS certification.

Nice To Haves

  • One year previous experience as a server preferred.

  • Participate, support and make recommendations for ongoing property programs with continuous improvement in networking.
