About The Position

The Pool Maintenance Specialist Trainee maintains pools at client and associated facilities. The role assists pool maintenance and service specialists with cleaning, maintaining, testing, and treating pools, and receives training to help ensure proper pool-water color, chemistry, and clarity. The position also includes inspecting pools and equipment and maintaining daily service records.

Requirements

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Understanding of swimming-pool cleaning chemicals and related equipment.
• Mechanical and manual labor skills related to aquatic facilities and equipment.
• Math skills to calculate chemical additives and ratios.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of related experience required.
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds at a time.
• Adequate sight and hearing to interpret water analysis and equipment readings and complete recordkeeping.
• Physical ability to perform all aspects of cleaning, checking, and monitoring pools and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Pool Maintenance Specialist with cleaning and maintaining filled pools and facilities by skimming, vacuuming, and performing chemical treatments.
• Periodically empty pools for deep cleaning, including brushing and scrubbing walls, floors, and surfaces.
• Assist the Pool Service Specialist with regularly testing pool water for pH, chlorine, bacteria, algae, contaminants, and other data.
• Receive training from the Pool Service Specialist to ensure correct color, chemistry, and clarity of pool water.
• Calculate and add chemical treatments to maintain pH balance, eliminate contaminants, or correct other problems.
• Inspect pools and equipment.
• Assist the Pool Service Specialist with completing and maintaining daily logs of chemical usage, water quality, repairs, and supplies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
